Greetings From Wyoming…

Wish you were here!!

We have been driving, rodeoing and dipping our feet in mountain clear water springs/creeks. We have been reading about Wild West history and visiting some of the many 1800ish small downtown areas along the way. Iowa, in a word, rolling. It was quite beautiful, the lush greens of the hills…I had never realized that Iowa was so lush.

Then South Dakota, where there is no shortage of WALL DRUG billboards. South Dakota has amazing topography, flat plains, rolling plains, the Black Hills, much more amazing history. There we stopped in Mitchell to see the Corn Palace. We bypassed the Wall Drug, we plan on hitting this roadside pop culture icon on the way home. As well as going to see Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House on the Prairie anyone?) home.

Finally to Wyoming. WOW. Wyoming. Wyoming is amazing. Just stunning. First we went to Sundance then drove to Devil’s Tower and took a hike. We drove into the dark mountains and made our way to Sheridan for the night. We awoke and started our last leg to Yellowstone when all the way almost to Cody my husband realized our reservations were for MONDAY night. So we took an unplanned stop in Cody. Last night we took in the Cody Rodeo (fun!) and just hung out by the pool at our hotel, where I sit now typing my blog!!

So without further adieu, some snapshots. Seriously, these are from my point & shoot camera, I am challenging my creativity with almost limited use of the point and shoot camera, seeing how challenging the limitations of one are. It’s not too bad, I’m just enjoying carrying a small camera instead of the behemoth with lens deal I shoot sessions with. It’s a nice break.
