This past weekend I spent an amazing late afternoon with some of my favorite clients, the B Family.  I had the pleasure of photographing little E and her mom, aunt and grandmother a few years back when she was just a wee one and my oh my has this little one grown!!  What an adorable cutie – and boy does she LOVE the camera!!

and since I’ve seen her last time she’s picked up a baby sister:

isn’t she the cutest?

I also had an opportunity to photograph their Aunt Sam who is a high school senior.  We got an opportunity to do an urban session in her prom dress, cross country gear and some adorable casual outfits (in the near dark no less!)  Thankfully we finished the session just in time because I think we were having so much fun that we’d *still* be out there!!  Here are a couple of Sam:

…I wasn’t kidding about the darkness.  It’s like someone put a blanket over the sky and we lost all light – we still worked it tho:

Thank you B Family!!  I loved catching up with you again!

Marianne, these are simply *amazing*! Your tones are ssssso soft and pretty.

Hi blogland!  What is it that they say about good intentions?  🙂  My intentions were big for the blog for July posts but alas that’s all fallen by the wayside as we round down to the end of the month.  I can hardly believe back to school shopping is here and the kids will be in school in less than a month!  Where has summer gone?

Before I get to the "what I did this summer" part of the blog, I’d love to ask you, the blog reader, to vote for Marmalade Photography for Chicago area Family Photographer.  Please follow the link here:

(Part of) What We Did this summer:

Part of summer 2010 was spent in beautiful North Carolina.  We spent several days in the mountains in the Ashville area near a small town called Brevard.  We stayed up up UP in the mountains at a fabulous resort…I’ll post more about that in my next entry.  The remainder of our time away was spent in gorgeous North Topsail Beach, NC.  We stayed at a lovely home right on the beach with remarkable views of the sand with the rolling waves of the Atlantic greeting us daily.  THAT was the life.

Because photos are worth 1,000 words I’ll let you be the judge of the insane relaxation and beauty.  I only got my camera out a handful of times while we were gone because I was so sick almost the whole time away.  But I want to go back (now!)  Is it time to go back to the beach?

That last one is way cool. You can totally come on va-kay with us. I think we have missed it this year, but next year we WILL get a beach trip in 🙂

  • Corey Sewell - July 30, 2010 - 2:40 pm

Those images are absolutely gorgeous! Love them all!

  • Lauri - August 3, 2010 - 9:24 pm

That’s the career I want too! Beautiful images, Mare. I’m relaxed just looking at them.

Greetings from the almost land of vacation time! 🙂  We will be out of the office until July 19th for our summer break.

I plan on checking in from time to time, hopefully I will have some amazing images to share with you, my blog readers!  I will check my voicemail once or twice weekly so if you’re a client with an order pending I’ll be in touch.  As for new inquiries, please hold tight, I will be returning phone calls starting the 19th.  I still have some late July availability however only a couple of August dates remain!!

(is it REALLY almost the fall season?  Wow.)

I had the pleasure of hanging out with the gorgeous R Family last night.  We did a mixed urban/nature session and had a blast.  A sisters session is one of my favorite things to photograph and this session was certainly no exception.  A huge thank you to the gorgeous I and her sweet little sister M who I had such fun with.  On with the sneak peeks…

I am taken back, The images you have here on your website are truly stunning.

The weather held out for us (thankfully!  I don’t think I’ll be that lucky the rest of this week!)  It was a bit hot & humid last night but still we had a cool time with the S Family for an urban session just outside the door of my Wilmington studio.

The best part of my evening?  I got to meet little L finally – she is such a sweet beauty!  Thank you to her beautiful parents Amanda & Kyle for travelling from southwest of Morris for a Marmalade Photography session!

I loved little L’s outfits – the paisley made me happy and the denim jacket on the horse…well I’ll let you be the judge!
