It was great to see the R Kids again this past week!  For those of you who have had an on location experience in the past couple of years, these kids may look familiar to you.   They are the subjects of the showcase canvas I take to sessions with me when I travel to Chicago, the suburbs or beyond.  The showcase image of these adorable sibs is a favorite shot of Marmalade Photography’s 2008 season, that session was so fun I was confident we were going to have a blast at this session.  I was not disappointed.

A big thank you to their mom, Sherrie, for bringing them out to the studio for another session.  It was so great to see you guys again!!  I love seeing how these kids are growing.

K loved the modeling with the umbrellas and the "wind" but this shot really shows the gorgeous color of her eyes.

    Stunning children, and great captures!

Hi all!  I’m still trying to play catch up from last week.

The heat of last week was pretty intense and this cutiepie was such a trooper considering we all looked like we jumped right out of the swimming pool after our session.  I’m surprised my camera could function in that level of humidity!! LOL  A big thank you to her wonderful parents for bearing the heat and allowing me to capture these sweet, beautiful images of gorgeous A while she is still an only child (did I mention she is going to be a big sis?!)  Here are some sneak peeks for you to enjoy of your beautiful girl.  Thank you!!

Oh what a sweet little one! She’s a beauty and so is your work. Your compositions are magnificent. Especially the last.

I had the pleasure of seeing a couple of my most favorite of little people a couple of days ago.  The day was ridiculously hot, sticky and humid, then the bugs came out!  How we managed to get so many beautiful captures in so little time is beyond me but guess what Beth?  We did!

AnnaB Sid is growing like a weed.  I loved talking to her and seeing how her imagination is becoming such a large part of her life.  Little A is just so fun, running and exploring – Beth has her hands full – he is SUCH a charmer.  But don’t take my word for it, look at these beautiful kids:

This was the most docile creature, he/she just hung out with a group of ducks during most of our session.

Beth, as always it was a pleasure seeing you and your beautiful kids, I love to watch your family grow.

I got several emails about the black and white at the end – all these are edited with my Marmalade Colour & More action set at seethelightworkshop.com. The bw was achieved with the Negative BW + the Little Pinhole Camera.

Beautiful images! I especially love that first one!

Great images. I love the location.

It was a pleasure to see the G Family again this past week for an urban session out at the studio.  Sessions with boys…teenage boys in fact, are some of my favorites because they are always so fun and relaxed.  This session was certainly no exception.  I adored seeing how these guys have grown in the past couple of years and seeing their beautiful parents once again who are always so gracious and kind.

We had an amazing time and got some amazing images.  G Family – I adore you!

I love weather.com and all but they were so wrong the other day in their forecast for the afternoon.  In the morning the forecast for the 3-7 p.m. area time slot was 10% showers and it maintained that until it was time for me to leave for the session.  I arrived at the Wilmington studio and the sky turned grey and opened up!

It got to a drizzle by the time Little E and his lovely mom arrived.  I felt bad…I normally pay close attention to the weather on iffy days.  They braved the fun (?!?!) Chicago traffic and they made it to me, I didn’t want to waste their time.  Little E’s mom graciously said: "Let’s just do it!  A little rain will be fine." and inwardly I jumped for joy because rain sessions can be a blast (if you have the weatherproof gear to deal with the drizzle anyway).

So we did.  I want to thank the remarkable Little E and his beautiful mom for a wonderful session.  I cannot wait until you get to see them all, they’re so fun and spontaneous, just like little E.

Beautiful pictures! The light is so nice and soft. Just curious – what do you use to protect your gear in the rain? Thanks!

    Hi Kris,

Thank you for the nice words. I shoot with a 1ds body and it is weather sealed. I also never go out in pouring rain with it but I will go out in drizzle.
