Suburban Chicago Family Photos

October was a little insane around here and the fall colors came much later in the month than usual (thanks in part to our glorious Chicago weather!).  Part of our insanity included our young dog, only 2+ years old, becoming very ill and needing hospitalization as well as critical care to nurse her back to health.  THANKFULLY she is on the mend but it was a very scary time for us and I realized, in the midst of the insanity, that I really didn’t have any recent great photos of the kids with the dogs.

I had a weekend evening free and took the kids and dogs out and not only accomplished some pretty great images but I think that I may have my holiday card photos.

Yes, a photographer who actually has her Holiday photos done BEFORE December 10th.  By George!  It’s a miracle!!  🙂  And while the dog is on the mend and is almost to her old antics at the time I didn’t know the outcome and was worried sick for our sick baby.  Thankfully and hopefully most of the October drama is behind us and we are onto bigger and better things.

Here are a few images from our brief little session.  Thanks to my kids, truly truly “photographer’s kids” for putting up with me.  For all these years AND for doing this mini mini session with me and their BFFs.

Unfortunately I was unable to accomplish getting photos of the girls with BOTH dogs (I was already begging for a miracle of health for one of the dogs and didn’t want to push it with more miraculous requests!) but I did get images from this moment, from this time and knowing now that this too had passed I am grateful that I was able to capture these moments in time.

At the end of the day that’s all I can hope to accomplish in my usual job capturing Suburban Chicago family photos: photographing the precious moments, perfect or imperfect as they may be.  🙂
