oooh,I love this….i may have to snatch it and put it on my blog 😛 It reminds of the movie August Rush!

Ahhhh, one of my favorite clients from 2007 came to visit me at the studio just over a week ago…AND she brought her new baby brother!!   I was thrilled when her mom, N called to book a session with me.  Her name barely came out of her mouth when I screamed with glee (I get like that – admittedly).   I was super excited to meet the new little bro, C and hang out with A again.

So I totally have to share this tidbit:  The first time N called to book with me she, her husband and A were moving to Chicago from Louisiana.  One of the things she said to me during our conversation always stood out for me

"When we move the first things I do are line up a hairdresser AND a photographer for my family".

I consider it an enormous compliment that you choose Marmalade Photography – thank you N (and hence the scream of glee from me) — you  had to know that it would just be a matter of time before that story came out!  😉

And what is a post about favorite clients without a blast from the past – circa 2007…

  • Kimberly Hill - April 17, 2009 - 9:52 am

Of course she chose Marmalade! Quality, style, pure gorgeousness… what’s not to love?!? Her fingers, his eyes. Both caught me right away. Of course you got them both. And mom’s sense of style with those clothes? BONUS! I foresee a long, happy photographer/client relationship here. How did the hairdresser turn out?

  • teri - April 23, 2009 - 6:39 pm

Awww, I love it when clients come back again and again. Such a huge testament to your high-quality work! She is a gorgeous little girl, they are lucky to have found you!

  • Jenna Slomp - April 25, 2009 - 2:24 pm

Gorgeous images of beautiful children! I love how mom dressed them too, so stylish! You did a wonderful job capturing them, especially with their mom, such a lovely image.

I had the pleasure of meeting E & her mom just over a week ago.  E’s mom is planning for a family session with E’s brothers later this year – I cannot wait to see them again and meet E’s bros!  E’s mom had the most lovely things to say about my work and how excited she was to have me photograph them, I love when clients understand that time doesn’t stand still and how imperative it is to capture the here and now before it flies away.

Really quick thanks to them for coming out to the Wilmington Studio, we got some really awesome shots of them together – seriously there are some from their session that are just jaw dropping beautiful.  E has amazing eyes and her mom is just gorgeous.

Here are a couple peeks into their beautiful beautiful session:

Chicago Baby Photographer Happy :) Baby

E was SO serious most of the session.  NOTHING (well hardly) made her smile.  Her mom said this is how she rolls!  I love it.

Oh wait!  She *DID* smile!! 🙂

Between little E here and W from last week – goodness – they’re rationing out the smiles for the camera!  I’m not sure what it is about having a big black box in front of my face – apparently it brings out the serious in some of my subjects!  🙂  I love it!

  • Jenna Slomp - April 15, 2009 - 4:37 pm

Oh what a sweetheart! Such beautiful images. I love how the framing on that second one just pulls you right in to the sweet baby face.

  • Lisa Kelly - April 15, 2009 - 4:43 pm

Well I love the way she “rolls”. Those serious expressions are just divine. What a beautiful child and these images just capture that so perfectly.

  • Kimberly Hill - April 16, 2009 - 7:05 am

Kudos to Mom for loving the real little E faces! That peek of a smile is a serious :snort: “awwwww!” Perfect dreamy Marmalade images of a gorgeous babe and mom.

  • Tera - April 16, 2009 - 7:25 am

Smile or not, that is one gorgeous baby! And equally gorgeous mom of course. Wonderful captures!

  • Terrilyn - April 17, 2009 - 10:18 am

Oh she is just adorable! That soft baby skin, her big blue eyes and that pale pink sweater are the perfect combination. I adore the sly little grin she’s giving you in that last portrait Mare, so sweet!

Quick sneak peek – I’m a bit behind with them (2 or 3 sessions now but who is counting)…

Let’s start with Tuesday’s festivities.  Amanda came out in the a.m. with her two beautiful kids who simply rock my world time & time again.  I’m falling behind on a few things so I only have a couple *AWESOME* sneak peeks for her here (more if you follow on through to the cool link below!)

SMILING (sorta)  YAY!

Aren’t they the most awesome kids ever?  Another huge thanks to Amanda for coming out to the studio.  I wish it were just a tad warmer but no matter, we still had a fab session.

Just a bit more about Tuesday … I was fortunate to meet Stefan at one of my workshops last year – funny, great guy from New York starting his business with his head and heart in the right place.  He seems to be really involved and wanting to create (and doing so!)  amazing works of art, since he has the art thing down pat his big item of business is getting his business pointed in the right direction.  That’s where our all day 1:1 mentoring session this week comes in.  We had a blast – the day went by SO quickly.  I enjoyed working with him (again) and thank him for allowing me the opportunity to help him in his (sure to be) successful endeavor.  My clients loved him.  Stefan – you rock.  Many well wishes for the future of your business!!
