On location photography in Elmhurst is one of my favorite things because it often means I get to see some of my favorite faces and this is no exception. I’ve been photographing this young man for years, in fact dare I say since pre-K? Anyway he is now a freshman in college, can you believe? I know I can’t, time has passed too quickly for both myself and for his wonderful parents.
Thank you H Family once again for entrusting Marmalade Photography with your priceless family memories. Some of my favorite moments in my 15 year career as a family photographer have come from our sessions together.

Finally…
As I looked through my hard drive for old images from this families’ session it occurred to me…ONCE AGAIN…that prints are king. I have lost probably 7/8 of the original July 2007 session with this family at the waterfall during the crash drive incident of a few years back. I have what I put in my “favorites” folder. Back then I even was backing up on CD-ROM and I was like “please please please be saved” when I remembered that it should be on disk, tucked away. Unfortunately that entire session is gone for the most part. When so many images from a session are pure magic it is heartbreaking…I’m hoping I can dig up the images somehow, someway…
Anyway it just highlights to me that the most reliable form of photographic media are the photographs themselves. You require no online access…no software…no hardware…no special digital media readers that become techno-antiquated (just made up a word, yo!)…you only need your eyes and sometimes it’s good to close them to feel the breeze on that day at the waterfall. It works for me!
Once again looking for old images has really reinforced my commitment to providing the highest quality in prints to all my clients.
