I swear….this is the last one

for my walk into the 80’s flashback throwback (and still no pic of me from HS. Angela, my apologies, I swear I just haven’t gotten to it)

For today’s song…I sorta hung out with a kid in HS that was HUGE into them. He was such a weird guy at the time (I grew appreciative of his sort of sardonic sense of self later in HS, during freshman year tho, I was so sheltered I just thought him odd). The Smiths. Unfortunately I didn’t fully appreciate them until they split and Morrissey was on his own. I tell you though, this song will now forever remind me of a Nissan Maxima commercial. LOL.

Tomorrow, lots of stuff. Boutique sessions for one. Sunday, another stint @ the Metro (wow, this music seems REALLY appropriate for the Metro circa 1985 or so…) and then a HS senior session. Look kids, it comes full circle!

Love the Smiths but didn’t gain my appreciation of them until I was an adult. I would’ve been sooo cool if I had’ve liked them in high school though

ha, oh Mare. If you only knew how much Smiths/Morrissey is on my ipod, lol! I have loved those boys forever. Aaaaahhhh. And I’m still bitter that they let Nissan have the song. Just like I’m bitter that The Cure sold out to some printer company. Sheesh. Though I guess it becomes obvious that gen x’ers are now the ones creating commercials/marketing, lol. And they are using what they love!
JodieO and her dh are also big Smiths fans!I love finding those sorts of things out about people.

Smiths fan from way back. Such memories. Listening to this song standing in a crowd at the KA house at Mercer in GA, drinking keg beer and doing jello shots… the year was 1986 or was it spring of 87 by then? Hmmm… I wonder whatever happened to all of those people.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

They used this song on commercials at some point recently? Really??
