Randomness & Some Updates : Chicago Area Children’s and Family Photographer

Marmalade Photography has been undergoing some behind-the-scenes revamping, it’s always exciting to be bringing new products and new ideas to the table.  2009 is going to be an exciting year, I can just feel it!!  Just a couple notes of random…

Regular session bookings for May and June are booking out like mad.  I don’t know what’s in the Chicagoland water this past two weeks but I’ve had a mad rush of bookings!  That’s a good thing but it’s also a heads up warning to anyone wanting to take advantage of the fabulous May and June light and more mild temps.  There are only two weekend session times available for May remaining and a handful of June dates.  I tell you…it’s a fabulous problem to have!  Call 815.603.8450 to book a session. 

•  Also, this is a biggie for some of my clients for Spring/Summer/Fall 2009, I am limiting the number of ON LOCATION sessions available to one weekend day and a handful of weekday times monthly.  Keep this in mind when scheduling a booking. 

I have been a slacker during my last few weeks off from shooting, it’s been nice to just dedicate myself to my long (rapidly disappearing) list of to dos.  My kids are enjoying spring break this week, I hope to get them out and do some shooting with them, it’s been several months since I really dedicated any time to shooting with them. 

On that note my 9 year old is experimenting with photography like nobody’s business – she got a Kodak point & shoot for her birthday.  She loves LOVES the video mode on it.  It really is amazing to see how creative she is (remarkable really) and how into photography she is at such an early age.  I can’t see where her creativity takes her.

Last month, right before I took time off, I dragged my youngest out to the studio for a "mini session".  It didn’t go remarkably well as she was SO not into it but….BUT this shot has me giggling.   I still have a ton to edit but this one made me laugh off the bat.  One of my good friends says she looks like my mom here, not sure about THAT but nonetheless…

I know that *I* probably look like that sometimes, "Ok now, hurry this up!"  LOL   Oh the life of a photographer’s kid.
