When I refreshed Marmalade Photography branding in 2023, I reflected on the (nearly) 20 years in business and the philosophy behind my work.

My logo shows the lotus upside-down – still reaching, still growing, still emerging. It’s also serves as a sort of deconstructed heart (my original symbol, honoring my roots as a post open heart surgical RN), the love that started me on the photography path). The graphic sort of forms the letter M for Marmalade.

It represents my journey from CVICU nurse: documenting life’s fragility, as a nurse, to documenting and celebrating life’s beauty, as a photographer.

More than twenty years of photographing families, not just moments, but entire lives.

For Life has dual meaning: I create photography FOR life (preserving memories), and I photograph families FOR life (year after year, milestone after milestone).

This is what I do. This is who I am.
