(Not) In the Wild : Chicago Pictorial

Archive Post

This post is part of the Marmalade Photography archive. We sincerely apologize - some images from our pre-2011 content were lost during a site migration and we have been unable to recover them. The writing and memories remain, and we are grateful you found your way here.

Yesterday we got a (rare) opportunity to hang out as a family in the city. We went to Lincoln Park Zoo for the bulk of the morning after the WGN Kid’s Fair (a few highlights for the BLD family below). There we spent some time with the polar bears:

and at the conservatory:

but before we did any of that we did Baby Loves Disco for a few minutes on stage at the WGN Kid’s Fair::

and before all of this happened, the sun rose (at a ridiculously early hour) over the City of Chicago, one of the greatest cities ever (I may be a bit biased since I’ve lived in the area my whole life but no matter, it truly is…) Somehow images don’t do moments like this justice:

(and actually traffic was not that bad on the Eden’s)

finally, my friend Terrilyn had this on her blog and I’ve seen (and never shared) before…get your tissues, it’s a bit heartwrenching:

Thanks for stopping in. Namaste.
