Marmalade Photography is a luxury Chicago family photographer specializing in senior portraits, family photography, maternity sessions, and newborn photography throughout Chicago and the suburbs.
Since 2005, we’ve been creating memorable moments with clients and their families – from location and clothing selection assistance to design of albums and wall displays to assisting clients in installation of their custom art pieces. We love the entire process of art creation to art enjoyment. This is what we mean by luxury – the art of creating family photographs that honor those in the image while focusing on heirloom printed images to last a lifetime (or several).

Hi! My name is Marianne – you can call me Mare. Many of the people that you see on the pages within this giant “love letter” have been in front of our camera numerous times – others just once in awhile – still others just on one or two occasions.
But every face makes up the plotline of the story of Marmalade Photography – “For life.” My clients cherish our creations together in their daily lives: cherishing beautiful imagery on the walls in their homes, in the albums on their console tables and in the memories we’ve created together.
My logo shows the lotus flower, its ‘face’, upside-down: still pushing through, still growing, still emerging.
Persisting.
The graphic serves as a deconstructed heart – which for years served as MP’s symbol – this honored both my roots as an ICU nurse and was explicit in the the love that started me on the photography path.
The 2023 symbol represents my journey from CVICU RN pre-2005: documenting life’s fragility, as a witness to illness…to documenting and celebrating life’s beauty, as a photographer.
It also sort of forms the letter M for Marmalade.
More than twenty years of photographing families, not just moments, but entire lives. This is my life.
