Still playing catch up on the sneak peeks – just a few more and I’ll be all caught up!!  🙂

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the K Family.  They came out to the Marmalade studio for a nature session and we had a beautiful time.  The grasses were still green and the flowers were blooming in full force all September style (I will not wax poetic about September light altho I really want to!).

I loved meeting S and her little sweet attitude, great style and beautiful smile. Thank you K Family for allowing me to capture these moments for you.

I love this shot, she looks like she is in deep thought here

I have yet to meet a child who doesn’t love sticks.  Seriously-I don’t quite know what that’s about!

Chicago Toddler

YAY!  I have the prettiest clothes in the land!!

Thanks to the K Family for allowing me to capture these moments for you and little S.  I loved meeting you all!

Baby Loves Disco was this past weekend at the Metro on Clark Street in Chicago’s Wrigleyville. It was a *blast*!  There was a dance contest sponsored by H&M and lots of activities galore.  If you’ve never been to Baby Loves Disco before it is such a cool thing.  First take a nightclub, clean it up to be kid friendly, open it up on a weekend day and have parents and their little ones come dance the afternoon away.  There’s healthy snacks and activities galore.  It really is THE place to be for rocker chicks & dudes everywhere.  DJ Bald Eagle did an amazing job as always and Sweet & Sassy prettified all the pretty ladies (and gave some very cool dudes some very cool mohawks!)  Here’s a taste of what went on:

One of the dance contest winners is pictured here.   The little girl in the Bears outfit danced her heart out to win.

There was *the* most amazing face painter there (I wish I had her info to link for everyone but I don’t just yet)

Believe me, I saw her kicking it up on the dancefloor, don’t let the coy camera pose fool you!

Sweet & Sassy

Sweet & Sassy just rocks.  They do an amazing job every time!!  I love this little girls’ expression: "Are we done yet?  I’m ready to show my beauty off!"

If you were at the event Marmalade Photography has created a special BLD page for you. The passcode that you received is your ticket to the city:

    Hi Marianne,

We spoke on the phone this morning, and I would like to schedule an afternoon session for my family. Looking forward to hearing from you!

So yeah, I get it, I’m a week behind in blog posts.  Life has run away from me this past week, here I am a week behind!

Last Saturday I traveled up to Racine to meet up with four beautiful girls and their mom who just so happens to be Racine Wisconsin’s very own Tracie Stier-Johnson of TSJ Photography.  You simply must check out her blog – it is wonderful.  SHE is wonderfully gracious.  Thank you Tracie (and the girls!) for allowing me into your lives to capture these beautiful images.  And now on with this belated sneak peek!!

I can see why Mom is thrilled. Each child has a unique personality and you captured them beautifully. I really like the delicate, dreamy feel to all of these.

Their mom just has to be thrilled! What beautiful images of these girls!

Saturday was a perfect day for a roadtrip of sorts.  The first leg of my "tour" was to go to K&J’s home on the North Side of Chicago and photograph their beautiful kids once again.  Before I go any further let me thank them, once again, for entrusting me with the most precious of things – the memories of their beautiful children.  I am honored and humbled that they have welcomed me into their lives yet again to document this all too fleeting time.  Thanks to the P family – I adore you guys.

So enough with the flowery stuff, this is all about sneak peeks…here we go!

Such beautiful light as always! These children just look so natural and innocent in this setting – so great of their parents to value custom photography of these precious years, they will never regret it.

Late last week I met the gracious E family at their home for a Marmalade On Location session at their beautiful home in Lincoln Park.  A big thank you to them for allowing me into their lives for a bit to capture their beautiful 2 year old doing what she loves best…exploring, hanging out and just being cute.  Thanks again Amy, I loved meeting you and your family!

Oh my Mare, she certainly is cute! I’m having a hard time picking a favorite here. That capture on the swing is so timeless, it just screams childhood! The one with Mom & Dad with the big grin makes me smile from ear to ear. Equally beautiful is that last image you shared with it’s lush colors and her darling expression. Beautiful work my friend!

  • Yvonne - September 15, 2009 - 8:48 am

These are great! Beautiful girl to go with beautiful captures. Love the location too!

  • SUsan - September 15, 2009 - 2:48 pm

    She is beautiful!

No joke, I am almost a week behind on sneak peeks.  Ugh.

Jill’s session was last week and we had a blast.  Not only is she sweet, she is gorgeous and in the tradition of all high school seniors that I have photographed in the past…she is super fun and open to any suggestions I had.  Thank you Jill (and the rest of the M family!) for a fantastic Marmalade Urban session – one that will make any cousin green with envy!  😉  On with the sneak peeks!
