The other day I had the most fabulous time with some of the most awesome kids in the ‘burbs.  I was lucky enough to get to visit with M1and her brother C several years ago at their home and this time they came out to see me with their little sister (we’ll call her M2)  🙂

Thanks to their wonderful mom, Jackie, for bringing them out to the studio!  Jackie it was so wonderful to see you again and thanks for the marmalade!!  (The *real* marmalade).  I’ll have to upload a shot of it on another day.  Mmmmm…

Without further adieu, here is C, M1 and M2 !  What a beautiful set of sibs.

    I really love your work.

That first one is to die for! Love how it just says “childhood”!

  • Corey Sewell - May 11, 2010 - 7:35 am

Love these! They both capture childhood so well!

  • Lisa Kelly - May 23, 2010 - 5:07 pm

I am dying over the umbrella shot, how gorgeous.

  • Sophie Crew - June 10, 2010 - 12:35 am

I am loving that umbrella shot! It’s perfect!!

Before I get going on sneak peeking…I must say that this is the most amazing April ever!!  The flowers are in bloom as if it was May, the weather is gorgeous and just wow on the spring colors.  I’ve been taking almost daily long walks with good friends and enjoying this crazy awesome weather and the fabulous, well, everything!  I hope you too are getting outside to enjoy the gorgeousness.  Life is good.

I had the privilege of photographing S last year, in a session with her adorable & funny brother.  But her mom, Faith, wanted a session just for her.  I love the idea of photographing a child separately from their siblings – it gives them a definite feeling of being special, being in the spotlight and showcasing their unique qualities.  I love Faith for seeing this as an advantage!  And while yesterday was a just a tad chilly, S braved the cold (as all great supermodels do) and we managed to get some incredible images.  Thank you S & Faith for coming out yesterday!  I hope you enjoy these sneak peeks!

She is a stunning girl and i agree, mum is so clever to give each child their moment in the spotlight. Gorgeous images.

  • Corey Sewell - April 23, 2010 - 12:14 pm

Gorgeous images of a gorgeous girl! I love them all and know her mom is going to be thrilled!

  • PamN - April 26, 2010 - 10:10 am

These will mean SO MUCH to her as an adult – she will always know how much she was adored!

I have a confession, one of my favorite images of all time is from the Spring of 2006.  Those that have been at my studio will know this image well when they see it.  Little E is and was a total natural for the camera – the camera digs her and she knows it!

It was a pleasure to be invited back to this family’s home this past weekend. It’s amusing to visit a family after not seeing them for awhile – it’s like Father Time waved his magic wand and POOF! the kids are grown up.  In this case they added on an adorable little brother.  Thank you M Family for entrusting Marmalade Photography to produce some more awesome imagery of your beautiful kids once again.  It is both a pleasure and an honor to be allowed into people’s homes & lives for a little while to produce memories.  It is doubly so when I am welcomed back.

Without further adieu – a couple of sneak peeks of some pretty awesome kids:

Oh gosh, look at her! That old one of yours is one of my favorites too. Very cute family and wonderful, fun images of their childhood. I love your work Mare.

The fence photo is super cute, as well as the bottom w/ the pink and dirty feet!. Well done. Great inspiration.

This past few months has been a whirlwind of activity for me, I feel like I have hardly had time to catch my breath!  Mostly personal things – some heart breaking, some frustrating.  A busier than usual winter shooting schedule also has kept me busy – something that I’m happy to report.

So when I was "forced" to go out and get shots of my youngest – I felt a palpable excitement during our session together, something that I sometimes worry will be gone one day (thankfully I can report that it’s there!).  It was exciting to be back in the warmth of the sunshine and back in nature.  I felt heady with excitement and anticipation of what my captures would be and how they would appear once I was finished putting my magic into it.  I felt invigorated and renewed.  I guess my few weeks off from the business side of things I has left me renewed, much like what spring signifies – almost a new beginning.

Happy Spring!

Hi there, I’ve been following for some time and LOVE your work. Thought I’d drop a line already =) This location is beautiful btw.

I’ve had a few weeks off for a much needed break, just easing back into "work" mode again, it was wonderful to get some time to regroup.  Time flew by quickly and now I’m fired up to take on the world!  🙂

Every once in a great while I encounter someone who reminds me how lucky I am as a mom, as a human.  Every once in awhile I encounter someone who has amazing strength, a desire for survival and inner beauty that radiates outwards and undoubtedly I had that encounter the other day.  Little H – happy 2nd birthday you amazing, beautiful girl!  Thank you to her and her remarkable mom, Jamie, for coming out to the studio the other day from the Schaumburg area.  I hope that you enjoy these sneak peeks.  It was a pleasure getting to know you!

Have a wonderful Easter and we’ll talk soon! Jamie
